Ten primary school staff (teachers, a deputy headteacher and a headteacher) attended training run by The Charles Darwin Trust on Friday 3rd October 2009 at King Henry’s Walk Garden.
The day focused on Darwin’s thinking with emphasis on teaching children in the outdoors, and was run by Director Karen Goldie-Morrison and Darwin Teacher Sue Johnson. This is the first time Darwin training has been held in Islington.

Pupils of Newington Green, Hanover and St Jude’s & St Paul’s Primary Schools are due to visit Charles Darwin’s house in Kent in April 2010 to see his kitchen garden (which fed 19 people) and learn about his work on soil, worms and bees. They are all part of The Garden Classroom’s Edible Islington project which concludes in summer 2010.
