From 1st September 2018 – 31 August 2019 TGC feedback was:
  • 100% of teachers said their objectives and expectations were met.
  • 100% felt TGC facilitators were skilled to deliver the activities.
  • 100% of teachers would recommend TGC’s service to other teachers.
  • 99% felt the visits had a positive – very positive impact on pupil health and happiness
  • 99% felt the visits had a positive – very positive impact on pupil personal development.
  • 81% said the visits had a positive – very positive impact on pupil behaviour and relationships.
  • 96% felt the visits had an positive – very positive impact on pupil engagement with learning.
  • 98% felt the visits had a positive – very positive impact on pupils care for and interest in the natural environment.
  • 81% felt the visits had a positive – very positive impact on school staff.
Also, we asked schools what the top 3 main challenges schools have had to overcome to take part in regular outdoor learning in natural environments and they said the obstacles were:
  • Needing extra adults to support school staff with the visit 24%
  • Lack of funding 20%
  • Perceived unsuitable condition of greenspace 15%
TGC aims to continue to address these issues to make regular learning in natural environments accessible to all, anywhere during the school week.
