Fiona Groves

Volunteer Mentor

Fiona Groves is the Director of the Natural Route and advises and supports those in developing improved social benefits, community engagement and increased diversity for sites and projects.

A specialist area for Fiona is in outdoor nature-based learning and development, gained through varied work including for the Forestry Commission, the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom and the Forest School Association.

Most recently, as Education and Policy lead for The Wildlife Trusts, Fiona led the strategic drive across the Trusts’ and with partners, setting out transformations that ensure everyone has access to nature-based learning, no matter their age or background.

As well as continued involvement in the Outdoor Recreation Network, Forest Education Network England and the Forestry Skills Forum, Fiona also sits on the Natural History GCSE Stakeholder Advisory Board.
