Wellbeing and Nature Connection Events by The Garden Classroom

Alongside regular gardening sessions in green spaces, TGC create regular mid to large scale outdoor community events designed to bring the community together and celebrate a connection with nature.

Join us for community gardening sessions in three locations!

We’re increasing biodiversity and wildlife habitats and creating imaginative gardens to promote nature connection for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, our sessions offer a fantastic opportunity to:

•Cultivate new friendships in the heart of your community

•Learn valuable gardening skills

•Transform your local greenspaces into beautiful gardens for all to enjoy

•Promote biodiversity and create wildlife-friendly gardens🦋

All tools and refreshments provided.
Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
No need to book, just turn up!

Past events

Past events include Milmay Nature Festival (2018), Picnic on the Green (2019), Grotto on the Green (2016,2017,2018) and Healthy Parks programme for people aged 65+ (2020).

Since 2017, Summer on the Green on Newington Green has provided local children and parents  with free nature connection drop-in activities during the school summer holidays  including bug hunting, clay work, plant hunts and nature stories.

Nature Tales -story telling in a magical bell tent, meet a Beekeeper, Outdoor yoga, nature crafts and trails and fun family challenges are just some of the highlights from past events which include Go Islington! Jazz on the Green, Apple Day at Gillespie Park, London’s Angel Canal Festival to name a few!
