Meet the TGC team at a starting point and head off to explore the green spaces of Islington and beyond; discovering fascinating stories along the way and enjoying the health and wellbeing benefits that walking can bring.

 

Sunday 9 July: Cemeteries, Parks and Medieval Marshes

Starts: Newington Green at 11am
Ends:  Victoria Park
Duration: around 5 hours with lunch

A full day’s walk taking in a dissenters’ cemetery, ancient lammas lands, modern nature reserves and the marshes of the River Lea; ending in the East End’s most important open space. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy.

 

No need to book, just meet at the start time outside The Garden Classroom’s Hut on Newington Green, N1 4RF.  Call or text ahead to 07436 580438 with your name and the number of walkers in your party and let us know if you have any special requirements. Suitable for all ages and abilities.  Bring water to drink. Wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing.
