11 hectares of reed-fringed ponds and dykes, this Hackney site is a rich haven for wild wetland habitats surrounded by tower blocks in densely populated Manor House, Stoke Newington and Woodberry Down.
Sessions are led by the London Wildlife Trust. These are very hands-on nature sessions and are all linked to the national curriculum:
- Pond Dipping
- Minibeast Hunting
- Plant Detectives
- Wild Wellbeing
- Rocks & Soil (Lower KS2)
- Maps (Lower KS2)
- History (Upper KS2)
The 1.5-hour school sessions are led by a member of staff from the London Wildlife Trust outdoor learning team.
