2019 Urban Forest School Facilitators

TGC is seeking to recruit passionate and experienced Forest Schools practitioners to deliver our exciting Urban Forest Schools programme this summer term.

Candidates must be Forest School Level 3 qualified and adhere to TGC’s child protection and safeguarding policy which requires a full DBS check.  High quality delivery and attention to health and safety underpins everything TGC does, and the right person must thrive under this ethos.

The ideal candidate will be committed, flexible and creative with a verve for inspiring children in the natural environment.  You will have experience of working with a full class of KS1 children and demonstrate excellent group management skills.

Successful candidates will receive a half day induction and training in delivering TGCs Urban Forest School format in Islington parks.

The facilitators we recruit will initially be required to deliver a total of 12 sessions with 30 KS1 pupils.  This initial phase of the project will be completed by July but there is potential for future work from September onwards.

Facilitators will be paid £80 per session.

If you have a passion for education and the outdoors, TGC needs enthusiastic volunteers to enrich the experience of children and families locally, connecting them with nature through schools’ sessions and community activities.

Volunteers support TGC facilitators to deliver high-quality hands-on sessions in green spaces across Islington and beyond. We offer a full induction and training.

We ask for a minimum commitment of 15 half day sessions and all volunteers adhere to TGC’s child protection and safeguarding policy which includes a full DBS check.

TGC works with a pool of committed freelance facilitators and we’re always interested in meeting new, enthusiastic and experienced individuals who can bring outdoor learning to life with flare, energy, knowledge and a passion for nature and the outdoors.

Facilitators are often actors or performers with a TIE background, and an ability to engage 30 children at a time creating memorable and inspiring learning experiences.
